My Willys obsession began as a toddler when my neighbor took me fishing in his M38A1. When I learned Willys made a pickup, I knew I needed one for a farm rig. During my last year of college, I located this beauty in a storage unit in Chicago. I saved up every penny I earned baling hay and headed north with a flat trailer. The restoration is still in progress, but I’m proud to say she runs like new. She has received a few period-correct upgrades like an overdrive and Super Sonic cylinder head (from a Henry J).
