689: Kyle Forbe’s 1949 Willys Truck
I have owned since May 2023. This trucks history as 1982 – 2023 was a Snowplow truck for a small Screen Printing business in my City of Erie. I’m preserving the patina, currently going under full chassis restoration, using all Kaiser Willys parts. AMC wagon 15×8 wheels on BFG 32” give it a boss wide stance look. It’s a Willys that will still sneak farm work in as I own it.
Update from Kyle: Now $17k in Jenny. Mix of Kaiser Willys parts, Jeepsterman & Vintage Jeeper. 29 days till heading to Ohio Spring Willys Reunion. Fhead, T90C & D18 all rebuilt. Added Saturn Overdrive. Bought a new chassis since previous was 6” twisted. Got it all boxed in. $4k was spent in body rust repairs. Found a 1950s Eagle Hood ornament to represent my Patriotic theme. I got a custom DOT Antique Plate as – JY49 (JY = Jenny & 49 = 1949). I’m sure some Jeepers at shows will question “ Whats a “JY” Jeep? I tried to get TK = Truck but that wasn’t available. Jenny will be equipped with Twin Air compressors & 10 gal tank to help air up tires, run air tools & Train Horn. Talking about Trains, Jenny used to be a Service Truck for General Electric Locomotive Plant in Erie, PA ( where I currently work at) lol from 1949 -1982. Then sold off to a guy who bought from GE installed a 6’ myers plow & resold to a guy located in Berine in 83-2023 to plow snow at his screen printing shop.
