The city council of Corning, California approved ordinances for street and food truck vendors. The ordinances regulate elements such as where food trucks can park, how far they need to be from key areas and what lights they need, according to a report by KRCR.
The council attended a California League of Cities conference about food truck vendor regulations, which it used to craft these ordinances.
« They gained a lot of insight and knowledge of what has happened and taken place in other parts of the state, » Brant Mesker, city manager, said in the report. « And been able to utilize some of that information to rewrite the ordinances here. »
The council put a moratorium on new vendor licenses in December 2023 and that will continue until the ordinances are voted in.
