Several residents have opposed an effort to change the residential zoning to allow a 3,000-square-foot restaurant with outdoor entertainment and food trucks in Wallingford, Connecticut. The group claims that the plot is too small and will cause too much noise and traffic in the area, according to a report by CT Insider.
« These people have spent their life savings getting condominiums so they can have a quiet life. It will be ruined. The smell, the look, the noise and the rodents prove it will not go good, » resident Robert O’Connor said in the report.
The residents, which are part of a group called Save Mansion Creek, also pointed to potential environmental concerns since the property is in a flood plain and a creek runs through part of the property. Others cited the planned demolition of a more than a 100-year-old house on the property as an issue.
The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission approved the zoning late last year.
