My wife purchased this vehicle for me for my 70th Birthday which was on February 3rd, 2020. I had long loved this particular year, engine and color since my father and I had a 1950 Willys Jeepster, same color (Nassau Cream) during the 1965 – 1968 time frame while I was still in High School. We had this Jeepster and worked on it together on the outskirts of Kalamazoo, Michigan. This is not the same Jeepster, but close enough. My wife and I found this on the Gateway Classics website from the Louisville Showroom in Memphis, IN and purchased it sight unseen.
Even though the front license plate shows the state of Colorado, we have lived in Peoria, Arizona for the last 6 years. The picture of my wife (which was actually taken in May 2022), was used for our 2023 Christmas Cards. My friends and I have a great time working on “Old Yellar”.
When the weather is cooler, I have taken it to the local car shows and have received a First Place and a Mayor’s Award, solely because of it uniqueness.
