Maricopa Eats, a Maricopa, Arizona business, has submitted paperwork to create a food truck park in the city. The area will hold a dozen food trucks, picnic tables on an artificial turf and a parking lot, according to a report by inMaricopa.
Owner Jose Meza hopes this will be a safe environment for food trucks after several operators in the area have been evicted from the Fry’s Marketplace parking lot.
« A lot of [food truck operators] are having issues in certain places, so we want to provide a safe spot for them, » Meza said in the report. « Something clean, something family-friendly that’s inviting. »
He also plans to host farmers markets, craft fairs and other events at the park. The city’s planning and zoning commission have yet to review his application.
