My 1976 restoration done by Kenneth Willie Magoon, Jr. This is the before picture. It took one year to complete my project. Original 4-cylinder engine starting knocking, so I replaced it with a Chevy V8 motor. I moved the grill ahead 6 inches and extended fenders so it would fit. It ran good but had too much power for the Jeep and I eventually sold it.
After decades of looking for another 1952 Willys CJ-3A Jeep like the one that I restored in the 1970’s, in August 2023 I purchased my Jeep that I found for sale on the internet. It was in running and overall good condition and also had been stored in a barn for 40 years. I kept it in my garage through the winter until this spring of 2024 and with a lot of planning and decision making, the restoration was completed this July. I’ve made some exterior changes and it’s still a work in progress, but I am happy with it.
