The city council of Lewes, Delaware will examine a proposed ordinance that would simplify processes for food trucks in the area. In particular, this ordinance would streamline the process of food trucks applying to set up in public spaces, according to a report by WBOC.
Currently, food trucks have to gain the approval of the mayor and the city council. This ordinance would put an application system in place that would go to the city manager.
Some residents are concerned about overcrowding or competition with restaurants, but others see the benefit of having food trucks at nonprofit events or festivals.
