#CES2024: WedoLow streamlines vehicle data load for EVs

At CES in Las Vegas this week (Jan 9-12) French tech startup WedoLow is launching beLow, the first automated and ultrafast software solution for diagnosing and optimizing embedded software, which could have significant applications for connected, autonomous and electric vehicles.

Data load is a key issue for the automotive industry, since cars have 200 million lines of code today and are expected to have 650 million by 2025.

The gains obtained thanks to beLow in terms of speed of execution and energy consumption result in more responsive systems and longer battery life. These are crucial aspects for electric and autonomous mobilities, which will have to be compatible with tomorrow’s ecological challenges.

WedoLow’s solution is capable of diagnosing and checking code rapidly to assess if is fully optimized and if gains can be obtained in terms of speed of execution or energy consumption.

From advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to autonomous driving (AD) and in-vehicle infotainment systems, the use of embedded software in the automotive sector has been constantly increasing since the introduction of ABS more than 40 years ago.

A winner of the Pioneer Prize at GPACF (Automobile Club de France) Autotech 2023, WedoLow has already proven its worth at several major industrial groups (manufacturers and parts suppliers).

It has generated gains of:

  • 23% on execution speed on the filtering of signals emitted by sensors on a road vehicle transmission system,
  • 95% on execution speed on the processing of data and filtering of signals emitted by different sensors (BMS – Battery Management System – software)
  • 72% on execution speed on a signal processing application for an estimated 50% energy consumption saving, representing several additional days of battery life for a battery-powered sub-marine robot.
