Embracing the Simple Joys
In a world dominated by the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to lose sight of life’s simple pleasures. As I grow closer to the milestone of turning 60, I’ve decided to embark on a journey of rediscovery of life’s simple pleasures.
Over the last decade I have come to realize the value of experiences versus material possessions so my focus in life is experiences and creating lasting memories. These experiences don’t always need to be grande adventures, when I can find joy in the simple everyday it makes life much happier.
In the spirit of embracing the simple joys of life, I am focusing on gracefulness, relishing in everyday simple things, trying new foods and experiencing new places.
I am making it a daily practice of expressing gratitude for my life and all the positive elements in it. Everyday I find things to be grateful for like the beauty of a sunrise or a warm smile from a stranger to colorful flowers in a garden. It is a mindset that helps me focus on the positive and makes me happier.
Trying New Foods
Along with my adventures trying new foods is one of the items on my list. I want to experience at least 20 new foods. Just recently I tried cactus, Nopales, at a local Mexican restaurant and it was amazing. I will definitely order it next time I see it on a menu.
