In 2023 BMW sold a total 362,244 Vehicles, setting a new sales record for the brand in the U.S. That was driven by a number of products as well as a huge increase in demand for electric vehicles. Sales of BMW’s electric models nearly tripled accounting for 12.5% of total sales in the US. But there’s more sales winners at both the high and low-end of the lineup.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, BMW sales in the U.S. totaled 107,881 vehicles, a 6% increase from the 101,738 vehicles sold in the fourth quarter of 2022. For the full year 2023, BMW sales increased by 9% on total sales of 362,244 vehicles compared to the 332,388 vehicles sold in 2022.
Key to this was the recently launched BMW X1 which saw a massive increase of 196.2% for the year. On the other end of the spectrum was the al new 7 Series which, despite it’s controversial looks scored well with consumers with an 80.9% increase in sales. Then there’s the 4 Series (buoyed by the i4) which once again outsold the venerable 3 Series.
