San Antonio police arrested Miguel Angel Cuellar Lopez for allegedly scamming 28 people out of $186,000 as part of a food trucks scam. Lopez allegedly rented out a parking lot and then asked victims for money to purchase custom food trucks, which were never completed, according to a report by Fox SA.
Police said that Lopez told victims he would need more money to complete the food trucks, but instead pocketed any money he received. He is being charged with theft of $2,500 to $30,000 and theft of $30,00 to $150,000, which are both felonies.
His son, Miguel Angel Cuellar Martinez Jr., is at large and will also face the same charges.
