We all know the mind-boggling features of the BMW M2. The folks at Lightweight Performance know them as well but they were not satisfied, so they created an M2 Finale Edition. The changes begin in the engine department where the 3.0-liter engine gets hardware upgrades. The addition of the HJS 200-cells sports cat and the Zeller downpipe have beefed up the six-cylinder’s output to 731 HP and 649 lb-ft of torque.
Such figures are comparable with the likes of the McLaren 720S, which is not short of a marvel itself. The BMW M2 makes a paltry 444 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque on stock specifications. In other words, the upgrade almost doubles the performance output.
On the other hand, the M2 Finale Edition welcomes you with carbon-fibre door panels, four separate seats with illuminated badges, and special BMW M colours with blue M1 and M2 buttons on the steering wheel. Moreover, blue pedals, and a short-shifting kit also adds up to the package.
Reports suggest that the F87 generation will soon be replaced by the G87. The German company therefore decided to send off the smallest M car with a special upgrade package. Even though the M2 ended production the previous year and the G87 is under development, “the Finale Edition is not the end of our F87 program.” Said BMW officials.
The Lightweight Performance M2 can be bought for $89,255, which is on top of the price of the donor car.
